hi - cool site. found you goggling. do you know of any tiny url services that DO expire? sometimes I am working on building a site and I post the URL link to get help on a forum board or something; I would love if someday that URL link expired - once site is up and running. thanks either way and happy day.

Thanks for the comment, Marie. I'm glad you found the post useful. If you have any specific questions about Twitter, feel free to send them to me at F1@TechForLuddites.com and I'll see if I have an answer for you. (And, if not, I'll do my best to find one!)

Thanks for your comment, Elizabeth. You're right about a few characters making a big difference on Twitter. I'll have to check bit.ly out as well.

I'm down with little URLs. Wait, that doesn't sound right.
Anyway, I like bit.ly the best because not only can it do all the things you cited with tinyurl, but you also can post directly to Twitter with it. Plus, bit.lys are shorter by a few characters -- which can make all the diff on Twitter.
(Heart) ur blog.

Elizabeth -thanks for the post. One thing I love about tiny url is that it now allows you to create a custom ending - to further identify the link. So if I wanted to create one for a certain blog post, I could customize it to say something like "friscokids3" at the end, instead of a random jumble of letters/numbers
