I've had this problem for a while now. I protected my tweets, then unprotected them and noticed my hashtags weren't working. Recently I protected it and unprotected again to see if that would fix it but still my hashtags weren't working. I've sent two help tickets to twitter with one followup and nothing. I'm glad I saw this article so I tried tweeting @charles for assistance. Hopefully this works and crossing my fingers. Thanks for sharing everybody I'll check back myself in a few and drop an update.

Best you should edit the webpage name QuickTip: When You (Or Your Hash Tags) Don’t Show Up in a Twitter Search to something more catching for your subject you write. I loved the post however.

Thanks for posting this, it really helps.

I followed your advice and asked @Charles "My hash tag #hellomornings is not showing up in searches. Can you help?"

He very quickly sent me a direct message saying:
Please file a support request at http://twitter.com/help/escalate about your tweets not appearing in search. Thanks!

I will let you know if they respond and what happens.

Thanks again.

Thanks for sharing. After all this time, no one has suggested this as a possible cause, even though in hindsight it makes so much sense! I'll update the post now as well.

Realized my problem is because my tweets were protected. When I unprotected them, everything showed up.
