If you're wondering what this graphic that has suddenly appeared in the right-hand sidebar is about, Mashable is currently accepting nominations for its third annual Open Web Awards. I've nominated T4L in the Most Educational to Follow category but there's a lot of strong competition! So, if you think you've ever learned anything from this site (and I sure hope you have!), please consider nominating me as well.
Before doing so, please note the following:
- When you click the graphic, it will take you to a page that automatically fills in the T4L URL and the category, so all you have to do is click the Submit button to make the nomination.
- You have to sign in to the site with your Twitter or Facebook credentials to be able to participate.
- When you submit the nomination, it will also automatically send out a tweet from your account or update your Facebook status line, depending on which you logged in with. If you don't like that, you can always delete the update right away.
- You're allowed to submit nominations once a day per category, so if you REALLY love this site... :)
You can see the 40 most recent nominees in this category here. The nomination period continues through November 15th. At that point, they'll tally up the top five nominees for each category and accept votes until December 13th. Winners will be announced on the 15th.
I'm not sure how they're going to tally the nominees accurately, because there's nothing stopping someone from entering Tech for Luddites, www.techforluddites.com, http://techforluddites.com, or any other variation. So if you'd like to pass on this info to others you know, please use this link:
http://mashable.com/owa/votes?v=www.techforluddites.com&c=5.
That will make sure everyone's using the same format for their nomination.
And what do the winners get, you might ask? According to Mashable, "Winners will receive a badge from us, the satisfaction of winning and exposure on Mashable through our announcement posts, etc ;)"... I'll take it! :)
Thanks for your support!

I hope you get officially nominated, Elizabeth.
Based on some of those nominations for easy to follow, I’m not sure about the seriousness of some of them.
Thanks Jennifer. I appreciate your support!
