QuickTip: You Can Now Like Comments on Facebook

So I'm easing back into T4L posts again and thought I would start with something I rarely say: Facebook did something good! :)

For a long time, you've been able to Like a status update or link or photo that your friends have posted. However, in a lot of cases, the comments that other friends made on the post were more interesting/funny than the original. Then you'd often see comments along the lines of, "I wish I could 'Like' your comment!" Well... now you can!

I don't know why the still refuse to add a Dislike option for posts, because I see that requested even more than this one. But, for now, I'll just enjoy the fact they finally added a new feature that I actually "Like"!

Yes, Facebook is at it again. Now they're making us have to opt out of sharing information with certain third-party websites. They call it "Instant Personalization." I call BS.

Bug Alert: Removing Image from Who-Viewed-Profile Apps on Facebook

My previous post, Beware of "Who Viewed My Profile" Apps on Facebook, received, by far, the most traffic I've ever received in a single day on this blog. Unfortunately, there's a new problem associated with the original one.

Beware of "Who Viewed My Profile" Apps on Facebook

There seems to have been a rash of incidents on Facebook over the last couple of days where people are getting notifications that they have viewed one of their friend's profiles or that one of their friends has viewed theirs--even when neither of these things has happened in recent memory.

Is Facebook Allowing Multiple Accounts Now?

In a post last year about setting up a Facebook fan page, I said, "I should also point out that having two individual profiles is a violation of Facebook's Terms of Service as well." That no longer seems to be the case.

I'd been reading various snippets about the latest redesign from my friends and on industry blogs but still wasn't really sure what to expect. So when I finally got it yesterday, my first thought was that it didn't seem too bad.

T4L Redux: Unhiding Friends on Facebook

I really should send the folks at Facebook a gift basket to thank them for all the traffic they've driven my way this year by virtue of their never-ending interface changes, confusing privacy settings, random bugs, and completely unwillingness to fix common user problems. Case in point: the nightmare that is trying to add a friends' posts back to your timeline after you've hidden them, whether accidentally or on purpose.
